I'm Emre Güneş. I built IESDesk.
Why I built it
I've spent most of my working life around light. I edited PLD Türkiye, a lighting design magazine, for twelve years. Since 2015, I've helped lighting manufacturers put their product data in order: PIM projects, catalogues, websites.
In every one of those projects, the photometric files were the slow part. Hundreds of IES and LDT files, and one change to a product name meant opening them one by one.
So I built the tool I kept wishing for. Upload hundreds of files. Edit the metadata across all of them at once. Draw the diagrams, rate BUG and ULOR for every file, and download the lot.
It's free, and it's in beta
IESDesk is free. It's in beta, so it changes often, and some things won't work the way you expect. When that happens, tell me. Once you sign in, every page has a feedback box at the bottom, and I read what comes in.
Who's behind it
IESDesk comes from Ağustos Teknoloji, a small team in Istanbul. Ağustos started as an agency in 1996, published PLD Türkiye, and has built technology for the lighting industry since 2014.
