Version 0.20.0 Live now
New
- Compare shows 2 or 3 IES or LDT files side by side, with a table of figures and two polar diagrams on one scale. IESDesk keeps no copy of the files.
- Compare warns you when an IES file may face another direction than the other files. It also shows the field angle next to the beam angle.
- The What's new page lists every release of IESDesk, newest first.
Improved
- You can drop a file on each one-file tool: IES View, LDT View, Diagrams, Report sheets, ULOR, BUG Rating and UGR Table. Compare takes 2 or 3 dropped files. A warning tells you why a drop is refused.
- When you are signed in, the home page still shows, with a "Your files" button.
- The export check is faster: 500 edited files take 5 seconds, not 7.
Version 0.19.0
Improved
- The examples on the Diagrams page and the Features page also show the beam look of the cone diagram.
Version 0.18.0
Improved
- The dark theme is easier to read in the edit grid, the dialogs, the 3D view, Your files and the Learn pages.
- The error pages follow your choice of the light or the dark theme.
- The Account page shows your account and your report sheet branding. The other account links are in the top menu.
- On a phone, the result tables of ULOR, BUG Rating and Report sheets jobs scroll sideways, so each row stays short.
Fixed
- The 3D view keeps drawing on a busy phone that scrolls while the page loads.
- A limit of one now reads "1 file" and "1 job", not "1 files" and "1 jobs".
Version 0.17.0
New
- One top menu on every page holds Features, Tools, Learn and, after you sign in, Your files.
- A switch in the top menu changes the theme to light or dark. The browser keeps your choice.
- Your files lists every batch and every job in one place, newest first, with the next step on each row. It is the first page after you sign in.
- One Edit upload takes IES and LDT files in one drop and makes one batch for each format. The Diagrams upload does the same.
- The public Edit pages for IES and LDT files explain bulk editing before you sign up.
- The Diagrams page shows one small example of each diagram.
- The UGR Table warns you when a luminaire is symmetric in one direction only.
Improved
- Each tool has one name in the top menu, the page headings and the browser tabs.
- IES View and LDT View each open both formats.
- On Report sheets, you choose the sheet type: Area and road, Floodlight or Indoor. A sample sheet of each type opens in one click.
- The beam look of the cone diagram draws beams up to 60 degrees, not 45.
- The "Made with IESDesk" line on a report sheet links to iesdesk.com.
Fixed
- IESDesk refuses a file with an impossible candela value or angle, and tells you why. Before, some pages showed an error page.
- The Learn pages cite the correct sections of CIE 121 for the length of an LDT luminaire.
Version 0.16.0
New
- The cone diagram has a beam look for spotlights. It shows the beam from the side, with each value in metres and feet. Choose it with "Cone look" on IES View, LDT View and Diagrams.
Fixed
- The UGR Table refuses a damaged file with a clear message. Before, some damaged files gave a wrong table.
Version 0.15.0
Version 0.13.0
New
- Report sheets makes a one-page PDF report sheet for one IES or LDT file, in A4 or Letter. IESDesk keeps no copy of the file.

- Your logo, your name and a footer line can go on your report sheets. Add them on the Account page.
- A batch makes report sheets from your edited files.
- IES View and LDT View show the light in 3D. Real light shows the lit floor, and False colour shows the strength of the light. Point at a direction to read its candela value.
- A diagram job can send you an email when the diagrams are ready.
- The Features page explains each feature and links to each tool.
